Skyway Development Group recently completed the ground up construction of The Emory, a fifteen-story luxury residential condominium building with thirteen units in Manhattan’s Flatiron District.
After acquiring the site in 2004, Skyway successfully pursued a Special Permit from the Department of City Planning that allowed it to nearly triple the neighborhood height limitations established under the Sliver Law. The resulting development project became The Emory. Skyway collaborated with award-winning architect, Morris Adjmi, to develop an interior design plan that embodies the very essence of New York’s modern world-class residences. Keyed elevator access leads directly into each apartment, revealing exquisite wide plank solid oak floors, sleekly modern design elements, and triple exposures on many of the upper floors that afford panoramic views of the New York skyline. The open kitchens feature custom Italian glass cabinetry, appointed with stainless steel appliances by Sub Zero and Kuppersbusch.
Skyway’s vision for the exterior design resulted in a stately combination of limestone and glazed brickwork. Strong accents of zinc-toned metalwork along the cornice, spandrels and window frames give the building a truly distinguished appearance alongside its pre-war neighbors.
